From The North (I 79 and I 279)
Use I-79 South to the intersection of I-279 South. Approaching the city pick-up signs for I-579 (Cross Town Expressway/Veterans' Bridge). As you complete crossing the Veterans' Bridge, keep right and exit for "6th Avenue/7th Avenue." Follow "6th Avenue" signs. At end of exit ramp, turn right onto 6th Avenue. Proceed down 6th Avenue across Grant Street, then across Smithfield Street. Look left as you proceed and the Oliver Building is on the corner of Smithfield Street and Sixth Avenue – adjacent to Trinity Cathedral. There are a number of parking garages nearby. The diocesan offices are on the 9th floor.
From the West (Route 65)
Begin inbound to Pittsburgh on Route 65 (e.g. from Beaver, Ambridge, Sewickley, Ben Avon and Brighton Heights). Approaching town (vicinity of sports stadiums) look for signs for I-376 East. Follow them across the river and as far as the Grant Street Exit (to your left). Exit left and proceed up Grant Street to 6th Avenue. Turn left onto 6th Avenue. Proceed down 6th Avenue across Grant Street, then across Smithfield Street. Look left as you proceed and the Oliver Building is on the corner of Smithfield Street and Sixth Avenue – adjacent to Trinity Cathedral. There are a number of parking garages nearby. The diocesan offices are on the 9th floor.
From The South (I 279, Rt. 51, Rt. 19)
Begin inbound on I-279 North (e,g, from airport, Washington, Bridgeville, South Park) and proceed north toward Pittsburgh, via the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Immediately after coming out of the tunnel (and the wonderful view of city) stay to center lanes and exit for Downtown. Pass through stop lights with Gateway Center and the Hilton Hotel on your left and continue straight ahead onto Liberty Avenue (no change in direction; just changes name). Proceed down Liberty Avenue to intersection with 6th Avenue (PNC high rise building on your right.) Turn Right onto 6th Avenue. Cross Wood Street and proceed on Sixth Avenue, Trinity Cathedral will be on your right and the Oliver Building is adjacent to the Cathedral on the corner of Smithfield Street and Sixth Avenue. There are a number of parking garages nearby. The diocesan offices are on the 9th floor.
From the East (I 376)
Begin inbound on I-376 West to Pittsburgh (e.g. from Monroeville, Murrysville and Westmoreland County). Continue into town watching for the Grant Street Exit (on your left). Exit and turn right onto Grant Street. Proceed up Grant Street to 6th Avenue. Turn left onto 6th Avenue. Proceed down 6th Avenue across Grant Street, then across Smithfield Street. Look left as you proceed and the Oliver Building is on the corner of Smithfield Street and Sixth Avenue – adjacent to Trinity Cathedral. There are a number of parking garages nearby. The diocesan offices are on the 9th floor.
