Trinity Seminary Holds Commencement
| |
On Saturday, May 17, Trinity School for Ministry celebrated its thirtieth commencement ceremony at Trinity Cathedral in Pittsburgh. The Most Rev. Peter Akinola, Archbishop of Nigeria, presented the commencement address. It was a doubly special event for Archbishop Akinola, as his son, Emmanuel, was one of the graduates being recognized.
Forty-nine students graduated from Trinity this year, including five with Doctorates of Ministry and thirty-seven with Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees.
In his remarks, Archbishop Akinola lauded those gathered, saying, "…permit me to congratulate and commend the Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, for the great work you are doing for us all and through you remind the ‘Christian world’ that seminaries exist to serve the Church in providing such theological education that will equip those God has called to serve him in mission, evangelism, discipleship and to prepare his people for heaven."
